Ably Apparel uses patent-pending technology called Filium, that makes natural fabrics repel liquids, stains, and odors. Pour water on an Ably shirt, spill coffee or wine, and it just beads up and rolls off like it’s on glass.
You can wear shirts to the gym every day for a week and it’ll still smell new. It’s not 100% waterproof, so if you get dunked you’ll still get wet—but Ably shirt or hoodie will dry up to 40% faster than regular cotton. There are other products on the market now that promise similar repellant properties, but they use a nanoparticle coating. Ably doesn’t use nanoparticles or any toxic chemicals that can leach into your skin or the environment.
The company was started by apparel industry veterans Raj Shah and Akhil Shah, along with Stanley Hainsworth, former creative director at NIKE, Lego and Starbucks.
Ably clothing are for both men and women. It has three categories- t-shirts, hoodie's and full sleeves which vary from 48$ to 125$. Ably launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund this product and pledged $540,112. The company promises to start its shipping by this month.
