Linbell - A Self-Powered Wireless Doorbell That Requires No Battery

Hard to believe, but yes within a day linbell not only crossed, it also backed thrice the initial goal of $15,518 USD after launching the crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter.
Wireless doorbells are quite common nowadays, but what makes Linbell stand out is the fact that it doesn’t need batteries or an external power supply. Linbell is easy to install, requires no wiring and requires no battery replacement. Early backers can get it for $19 USD which would include linbell transmitter and receiver each. You can also get multiple transmitters and receivers, but you have to lose your pocket more if you have to buy more.
So, you can use it in the following way as depicted below in the image.

Get multiple receivers if afraid to miss the bell ring. Though transmitter doesn't need batteries or power supply, but yes receiver is needed to be plugged in to a power supply. Linbell is entirely self-sufficient, converting the kinetic energy of the switch actuation into a voltage pulse, powering an RF transmitter and sending signals to the receiver. Most of the wireless bells are not audible but in case of linbell this is not so, as its maximum volume can be upto 100db. Linbell is programmed with 36 types of ring tones and adjustable on the volume. Pick the favorite one for you and family!. Click Here to back this project.

After reading the article the most important question arises- Is fidgeting beneficial to us? Yes, it is beneficial in following ways:-

10 New Features Of Windows 10 Anniversary Update that you must know

Windows 10’s second big update, dubbed the “Anniversary Update”, is finally here. This is a huge update that touches every corner of the operating system. Free for all Windows 10 users, the update is shaped by feedback from Microsoft's Windows Insider program.

If you don’t have it yet, try checking for updates in Windows 10’s Settings > Update & Security. You can also start the update manually  from Microsoft’s support page here.

1)Cortana—Your Digital Agent

Cortana is ready to help you in more places in Windows 10, including the lock screen. When your device is locked, you can still check your calendar ("What's my schedule for tomorrow like?") or ask Cortana important questions ("Can you beatbox?").

And forget about writing tasks on your hands just to remember, say, your dad's birthday—create reminders based on location, time, and even people. Cortana can help you remember to wish your dad a happy birthday at a specific time, or remind you to pick up a cake when you're at the grocery store.

2)Rule The Web With Microsoft Edge

The context menu for extensions in Microsoft Edge

Microsoft Edge has so many updates, we need a list to cover them all:

  • Use Extensions to personalize and protect your browsing with add-ons like Office Online, Microsoft Translator, and more.
  • Enlist Cortana to show you similar image suggestions on Bing searches, or even the lyrics to a music video you're watching.
  • Pin individual tabs to the Start screen for easy access.
  • If you have a touchsreen device, browse more briskly by swiping left/right to go back/forward to different webpages.

3)Windows 10 Gets a Dark Theme (and More Theme Options)

With the Anniversary Update, you can now choose between light and dark modes in Settings > Personalization > Colors. Its designed for Windows Store apps, but not every app will listen to this setting and obey it–some apps, especially those from third-party developers, control their own theme settings. This also means File Explorer will remain as blindingly white as ever. You can also choose color of your own choice for start, taskbar and action center.

4)Get Creative With Windows Ink

Windows Ink puts the power of Windows in the tip of your tablet pen, enabling you to write on your device just like you do on paper, create sticky notes, draw on a whiteboard, and easily share your analog thoughts in the digital world. Windows Ink is integrated into apps like Maps, OneNote, Microsoft Edge, and Office.

5)Simpler Start Menu

Microsoft has changed the way Windows 10’s Start menu works. The “All Apps” option is now gone–you’ll just see a full list of installed applications at the left side of your Start menu. Your most frequently used and recently added applications will appear at the top of this list. It’ll show the three most recently added applications instead of a single one, and you can expand this list to see more applications sorted by when you installed them.

Important buttons like the File Explorer, Settings, and Shut Down buttons are now always located at the left side of the Start menu.

OneDrive users will be happy to know that they can now search all their files–both files on the PC and files stored online in OneDrive–from the Start menu.

6)Improved Notifications In Action Center

Action center
Action center has moved to a new location in the far right corner of the taskbar, and sports a new look that gives you the power to organize your notifications however you see fit.

You no longer need to open action center to see how many notifications you have—the number on the action center icon(highlighted above) shows you how many notifications are waiting for you. Other apps pinned to the taskbar can also show the number of notifications you've missed.

7)Do More On The Lock Screen

Cortana isn't the only new feature on the lock screen—you can now play music while your device is locked to control the action from start to stop. Media controls appear at the bottom right corner of the lock screen, along with a picture of the album art from the song currently playing.

8)Windows hello for apps and websites

Fingerprint sensors have been a huge convenience on phones and tablets, and Windows currently supports it for logging into your laptop too via Windows Hello–provided it has the necessary hardware. But in the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, Windows Hello will support Windows apps and Microsoft Edge, so you can securely log into apps and web sites using your fingerprint as well–not just Windows itself.

You can also sign in to your PC using Windows Hello companion devices, such as Microsoft Band and some Windows 10 phones.

9)The Store Is Redesigned

The new Windows Store design includes features that should appeal to gamers in particular. It's aligned more closely with the Xbox Store, and now offers game bundles and subscriptions. For everyone else, the new design does make it a bit easier to get to the top apps, music, and movies. The Store's download progress indicator is now bigger and clearer, too.

10)Windows Defender Gets Better for Security

You can also schedule regular scans, and use Cloud Protection and Automatic Sample Submission for quicker threat response. PCMag's security analyst, Neil Rubenking, notes that Defender has improved its performance on independent lab tests, but he still recommends third-party antivirus for superior protection.

Note- It may take half an hour or more to update your windows 10 and your computer might restart several times, don't panic and update it in free time.

Airing: the first hoseless, maskless, micro-CPAP to get rid of snoring and to cure sleep apnea

Before you start reading this article ask a question to your partner or parents, do you snore? If, yes you are in trouble and it should be diagnosed immediately. Read further to know what can snoring leads to and why airing should be used to cure it.

Snoring is the often loud or harsh sound that can occur as you sleep. About 40 percent of adult men and 24 percent of adult women are habitual snorers. Snoring can be a nuisance to your partner and anyone else nearby. You may even snore loudly enough to wake yourself up.

Light snoring may not disrupt your overall sleep quality. Heavy snoring may be associated with obstructive sleep apnea, a serious sleep disorder and a risk factor for heart disease, stroke, diabetes and many other health problems.

What is Sleep Apnea?

Sleep apnea (AP-ne-ah) is a common disorder in which you have one or more pauses in breathing or shallow breaths while you sleep. Breathing pauses can last from a few seconds to minutes. They may occur 30 times or more an hour. Typically, normal breathing then starts again, sometimes with a loud snort or choking sound.

Untreated, sleep apnea causes a number of serious health problems, including high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, memory impairment, weight gain, and headaches.

Sleep Apnea-Treatment
CPAP machines can mitigate this problem, but their poor design causes sleep apnea sufferers to give up on it: 50% of CPAP users stop using it within one year. But with a new invention called the Airing which help the patients to get rid of sleep apnea and snoring problem too without going beyond their comfort zone.

How Airing Works?

Like other sleep apnea devices, the Airing sends air into a wearer’s breathing tubes to keep them from collapsing. That can also eliminate snoring because it ensures airflow doesn't get obstructed. The Airing uses hundreds of tiny micro-blower plates, which open and close because of electrostatic force. When the plates have opposite charges, they attract, squeezing together like bellows. Each little pump does that thousands of times per second to create airflow. The air comes through two nose buds, which are made of molded silicon rubber. The buds form a seal inside the nose to maintain the air pressure and ensure that the device stays in place while the wearer sleeps. The Airing is powered by zinc-air batteries, which are powerful and light. But the batteries are not rechargeable, so each Airing can only be used once.

Design Specifications:

The Airing has raised more than $1,566,000 on Indiegogo and is a prototype by now. The company is building up full working product and each Airing is estimated to retail for $3. It would be available in market after it gets FDA clearance and insurance approval. But the company promises to start its shipping by July next year.

Here’s a video that was created to help with crowdfunding the Airing:

The Z - a perfect gaming mouse from Swiftpoint

If you're a Gamer, Designer or a Power User, The Z will let you interact with your computer in a faster, more precise & intuitive way. It's the world’s first mouse to pivot, tilt and roll, with a brand new way of clicking buttons - meaning you can access dozens of different button actions while barely moving your fingers. The Z also senses how hard you click, giving variable speed / force control, and provides tactile feedback, so you know when you’ve made a ‘deeper click’.

The Z is aware when it is pivoting left or right. In the example listed on the Kickstarter page, you could run straight ahead in a game while looking left or right with analog control(the same way as you would with a VR headset).

While in the air, the mouse can sense pitch, roll and yaw movements to offer a full flight or space simulator experience. Players can attach a 3-axis extender to the bottom of the mouse for a full flight or space simulator experience.

When playing a game that involves driving you can use the mouse to take direct analog control of the steering wheel. Just tilt the mouse right or left in order to give direction to vehicle.
The specifications of the mouse can be clearly depicted by the image given below.

Swiftpoint’s previous Kickstarter project, earned the Best Computer Peripheral Innovation award, at the largest technology show in the US (The CES). Now, after more than three years of development, they are ready to launch The Z
The Kickstarter campaign for the Z wrapped up on 12 August 2016 and pledged more than $500,000. Swiftpoint says the shipping of units would start in December, if all goes to plan.
